Mikoshi

A mikoshi (神輿) is a portable Shinto shrine. Shinto followers believe that it serves as the vehicle of a divine spirit in Japan at the time of a parade of deities.

The photo below is from 2008 ACS Relay for Life – Calaveras County. Some of the people in the photo have passed on but their spirit lives on in many. Cancer doesn’t effect just one person, there are many people fighting, surviving and celebrating life!
