Frozen

Posted on Updated on

Just before the winter solstice, I was exploring along the western edge of South Lake Tahoe. In 2007 the Angora Ridge Fire destroyed 254 homes and burned 3100 acres. Today there are still reminders of the fire but in the devastation there is regrowth and beauty in the surrounding area. I found some cool icicles forming off burnt fallen logs along Angora Creek. A bit later down the road, Sawmill Pond was frozen with a close up shot revealing tiny air pockets trapped in the ice.
