High Mountain Wildflowers
We started our descent down the mountain. The weather heading down was intermittent rain and then the sun. The moments of light brighten up these these high mountain wildflowers. Most of the blooms were spent but they still had enough color to pop into view along the trail.
Wild Lupine by the Stream
So many wildflowers in bloom along the trail. Here wild lupine grows by a stream.
Pine cone and Forest Phlox
I’ve seen a million pine cones on the forest floor before . It wasn’t until a recent hike that I noticed the variations in color within the cone. I thought, this was a cool shot against the phlox.
Lupine & Clover
Bight purple Lupine and pink Clover in bloom along the shoreline.
Lupine on the Lake
This Lupine on the shores of Lake Tahoe stood about three feet tall.
Bright Mule Ears
Bight yellow flowers of the Mule Ears rustle in the wind. The leaves of Mule Ears are covered with soft white matted hairs.
Sulfur Flowers at Martis Peak
