Calaveras
Dinner To Go
These turkeys were feeding along the highway in this field. When I parked, they just started to wandered away from the highway (and out of range from my camera). All the time, heads down just eating their dinner to go.
Survived Thanksgiving
From the highway, I spotted a gang of turkeys. These guys were good sized and seemed to have escaped Thanksgiving last month.
Into the Depths
With the much anticipated opening of The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies this week; I thought it would be fun to post one of my cave photos. This was taken in 2011 at Natural Bridges in Calaveras County. It is a limestone cave/grotto.
Rain Adds Color
Some people thank that when the weather is bad, everything is dark and dreary. I think that rain adds color to the scene. Greens are lusher, the oranges of the rocks seem to pop.
Rain is coming
Recent weather has me cooped up inside and a chance to revisit some photos from the past months. This was taken in late September at Alpine Lake in California. The rain was coming in and I snapped a few shots before putting the camera away for protection. As you can see from the water lines on the boulder, it’s much needed.
Fog in the Pasture
Driving home early last Sunday the fog was rising in the pasture.
Fungus
Early morning hike on the Arnold Rim Trail and I spied these fungi on a fallen oak stump.
Gruesome Find
Traveling home one afternoon, I spotted a bunch of turkey vultures on the side of the road. I pulled over to see what they fighting over, and this was my gruesome find.
