Spring Runoff
We walked around Crater Lake and found this waterfall of Spring runoff.
Above Hope Valley
From a ridge near Crater Lake, you can see Hope Valley below. That’s Pickett Peak and Hawkins Peak to the left.
Beautiful Vistas
Just below Mt. Tallac there was this high meadow that had this incredible view. The mountains in this area are made up from a variety of colors.
Exploring
Day 1 at Showers Lake. After a quick thunderstorm, I had the chance to go exploring around the lake. Cool boulders to scramble around.
Junipers Watching Half Dome
In Yosemite there can be so many crowds milling around to get a view of iconic Half Dome. I found a spot where there are few people and a different angle. These junipers reminded me of people standing around just looking at the great view.
Small Pool at River’s Edge
Small pools form in the slick rock along the edge of the Toulumne.
River Reflections
With the water so low in the river, boulders appear when normally underwater. I was able to capture reflections in the pools along the river.
Be Vigilant
The restored fire lookout at Martis PEak reminds us that we need to be vigilant during the dry season. This lookout station has views of Truckee, Northstar and the Northern reaches of the Lake Tahoe Basin.
Fire Lookout Station
Drove around to the North side of Lake Tahoe. We parked an walked up to the point. We were surprised to find this restored fire lookout station at the top.
