Lake Aloha

036In the Tahoe Basin, I think that Lake Aloha is one of my favorites. It’s high in elevation (so fewer crowds) and has an assortment of islands within it. The water is an incredible shade of blue. Can’t wait to go back and spend more time exploring the area.

Massive Juniper

124This is the massive juniper tree from yesterday’s photo. I have no idea how old it is. Looking at its crown, I suspect that it’s been hit by lighting.

Sun Through the Juniper

118-2There was a massive old juniper near our campsite. I loved the colors in the tree and the bright green lichen growing on it. I looked up and there was the sun shining through the branches.

Junipers Watching Half Dome

_MG_3785In Yosemite there can be so many crowds milling around to get a view of iconic Half Dome. I found a spot where there are few people and a different angle. These junipers reminded me of people standing around just looking at the great view.
